"Never Mind" คนไทยมักใช้ผิด

คำว่า Never Mind คนไทยจะคิดว่าแปลว่า ไม่เป็นไร ซึ่งจริงๆแล้ว Never Mind แปลได้ว่า "it doesn't matter, it wasn't that
important" มันไม่ใช่อะไรสำคุญหรอก

"forget it" ลืมมันซะเถอะ ช่างเถอะ 

สมมุติว่า เราคุยภาษาอังกฤษกับฝรั่งคนนึงแต่เราฟังเค้าพูดไม่ค่อย

เข้าใจ เราอาจจะถามเค้าว่า Pardon ซ้ำๆซากๆหลายครั้ง จนฝรั่งคนนั้นรำคาญ ฝรั่งคนนั้นอาจใช้คำว่า Never Mind กับเราก็ได้เช่นกัน
คำว่าไม่เป็นไรนั้น เวลาเราจะพูด มันก็จะมีหลายแบบออกไปขึ้นอยู่กับประโยคที่ผู้พูดพูดมา เช่น
1.  ถ้าเวลามีคนขอบคุณเราที่เราช่วยทำอะไรให้เค้า ในภาษาไทยเราก็จะพูดว่า ไม่เป็นไรค่ะ  แต่ในภาษาอังกฤษเราควรพูดว่า your welcome (ด้วยความยินดี), no worries/ no problem (ไม่มีปัญหา)
2. แต่ถ้ามีใครมาขอโทษที่ทำผิดกับเรา ถ้าเราให้อภัยเค้า เราก็จะบอกว่าไม่เป็นไรค่ะ  เราจึงควรพูดว่า 
    It's okay นั่นเอง

Academic Writing เขียนอย่างไรให้คะแนนดี??

การเขียน Writing นั้นอย่างแรก เขียนอย่างมีสติเป็นสิ่งสำคัญค่ะ เขียนอย่างไรให้มีสติ? ไอเดียอย่าพยายามฟุ้งไปไกลออกนอกเรื่อง ถ้าพูดภาษาเราๆคือเพ้อเจ้อนั่นเอง การเขียนที่ดีนั้นจำเป็นมากๆที่ไอเดียภาษาไทยซึ่งเป็นภาษาแม่ของเรานั้นชัดเจนก่อน เราจึงจะสามารถเขียนออกมาเป็นภาษาอังกฤษได้ดี และฝึกการใช้ Collocation เยอะๆ Collocation คืออะไร?? ยังไม่บอกตอนนี้ค่ะ น้องๆลองค้นคว้าก่อนดูดี มั๊ย เพราะในการเรียนภาษาอังกฤษถ้าจะประสบความสำเร็จได้นั้น การค้นคว้าขวนขวายด้วยตนเองสำคัญมากอย่างยิ่ง google  ช่วยให้เราสามารถหาคำตอบที่เราต้องการได้เกือบหมดเลยหล่ะ ในส่วนนี้จะขอเอา Writing ฉบับหนึ่งตั้งแต่สมัยที่พี่เรียนพิเศษและฝึกเขียนใหม่ๆมาวิเคราะห์ถือจุดผิดพลาดกันนะคะ
ในส่วนแรกจะให้น้องๆลองอ่าน  Writing  ฉบับนี้ก่อนนะคะ

Many students choose to attend schools or universities outside their home countries, why do some students study abroad? Use specific reasons and details to explain your answer.

            I believe that many Thai students would like to go to study in foreign countries for various reasons, I’m one of them who want to go to study in USA. There are many reasons, some reasons are quite the same, but some are different. One of reasons that I think most of Thai students want to achieve, when they go to study abroad is language especially. English, also, there are other advantages to study in foreign countries.

            First of all, most of students want to clever at English because they realize that English is a middle language. Nowadays our world is globalization. Every country is linked together by new technologies such as internet, satellite, telephone, etc. We do business all over the world. In Thailand, we can recognize that many big companies are run by foreigner so we need to use English to communicate. Fro my point of view, English is one if the skill which social use to judge people’s ability. Most of Thai students want to improve their language so they determine to study abroad. They certain that it is an efficient way to be better in English. Everyday they have to speak English with the native speakers. They will get the same exposure in order to develop a good listening skill. Moreover, the other skills- writing, reading, speaking will be better too.

Secondly, they want to have more responsibilities. Thai society always raises children like kids. Parents always keep their eyes on them and hold them every step they walk. Therefore, Thai students can’t do anything by themselves. I believe that going to study abroad will help them stand on their own feet. They have to rely on themselves. Furthermore, they are mature enough to combine each good side of the two cultures. Living in different environment, they have to force themselves adapt to a new surrounding and culture. They can choose good part of them and keep their own beautiful culture.

Lastly, going to another place can give them different points of views. Their vision will wide out. They will learn something new which can motivate their creativity. I hope that the knowledge that they obtained from study abroad can provide them to develop country. To my way of thinking, eventhough Thailand is a developing country, which has many high technology, we must accept that we are many steps behind others. Studying in foreign countries may be one of the best ways to keep up with new developments and then bring the good things develop our country. We cannot deny that our country want many competence people in every field.

Thanks to many reasons mentioned above, study abroad can be enriching. I believe that going to study abroad will help students in every aspect. They can learn new things, new language, new environment, new culture and also learn more about themselves. Many experiences that they get from study abroad will be useful in one’s professional life. Also, the greatest goal is to develop our prosperous country.

ถามว่าจำเป็นขนาดไหนที่จะต้องเรียนรู้ในสำเนียงภาษาอังกฤษที่แตกต่างกันออกไป คำตอบคือจำเป็นในระดับหนึ่งค่ะ เพราะไม่อย่างนั้นเราก็จะฟังฝรั่งไม่เข้าใจสื่อสารกับพวกเขาไม่รู้เรื่อง

                                                                    สำเนียงอังกฤษ

สำหรับสำเนียงอเมริกันนั้น เราสามารถหาฟังได้ทั่วๆไป เช่น จากภาพยนตร์ และจากเพลง สำหรับในเรื่องของเพลงนั้น ไม่ว่าจะเป็น คนอังกฤษ คนอเมริกัน หรือคนออสเตรเลียหรือจากประเทศใดก็ตาม จะร้องเพลงภาษาอังกฤษในสำเนียงอเมริกัน
